Compressor Cooling Wine Cellar Reviews
When it comes to storing large numbers of wine bottles, traditionally the best choice would be to build a wine cellar underground or in a basement. But times have changed, and that is not the only way, especially when there is only a limited amount of space available in a location. These days, electric wine coolers are used globally, and there are two main types: compressor cooling wine cellar and thermoelectric wine cellar.
COMPRESSOR WINE COOLERS ARE DIFFERENT
Thermoelectrics operate differently from wine fridge compressor cooling systems, in that thermoelectrics use a principle called the Peltier effect. There are two metals fused together that each become cold or hot when electricity passes through. While this does make a system that is cost-effective, quiet, light weight, and vibration free, it has its limitations, especially when it comes to large scale storage.
COMPRESSOR WINE CELLARS ARE BETTER FOR BIGGER COLLECTIONS
This is where compressor cooling wine cooler systems excel. While the compressor cooling wine fridge systems still use older, traditional technology, its advantages come in the form of powerful cooling temperatures and large bottle capacities. Not only that, while thermoelectrics are vulnerable to outside heat, wine fridge compressor cooling systems are not.
COMPRESSOR WINE CELLAR BRANDS
This means that for avid wine collectors and wine business owners, it is the best choice of cooling system. Some examples include the medium-sized dual zone Kalamera KRC-150CB Wine & Beverage Cooler which can store 20 bottles of wine and 60 cans of drinks, but only takes up 23” x 24” of floor space. Another like it that made our top 20 list is the New Air AWB-400DB Dual Zone Beverage Cooler with similar features, but can hold 22 bottles and 70 cans.
Then there’s the titanic Allavino YHWR305-1BLT 305 Bottle Single-Zone Wine Cellar that can store and cool a whopping 305 bottles. Even if it is a compressor type system, it cools down 50% faster than other models, and also operates quietly. It is a very good substitute to a large traditional wine cellar, especially since it is only a 6.5 x 2.6 x 2.4 feet unit.
