The three current models we review are tall, slim, freestanding towers: a 14-bottle single zone model under ten inches wide and two 27-bottle dual zone models under twelve inches wide. The NutriChef 14 Bottle is the one we rate highest, and the NutriChef PKCWCDS275.5 27 Bottle Dual Zone is the pick if you want two zones. The limitation buyers find too late is the price per bottle: you pay for the narrow cabinet, not for capacity.

NutriChef’s older thermoelectric coolers have largely left the market. The current models we review all use compressor cooling.
These cabinets are built to fit narrow spaces, and the price reflects that. If you have room for a standard 15-inch or 24-inch cooler, you can store more bottles for the money.
Both 27-bottle models use manual defrost, so plan to switch them off and clear the ice from time to time. The 14-bottle listing says it is frost free.
All three models are listed as freestanding, for a floor, table or counter. None is rated for built-in use, so do not box one into cabinetry.

Stand the tower on a level, solid surface and leave air around it, since all three are freestanding. Defrost the 27-bottle models when ice builds up: switch off, move the bottles, let the ice melt and wipe the cabinet dry. Check the door seal regularly, and give a new unit time to settle at its set temperature before loading it fully.

For a very narrow space, yes. We rate the current models from 3.7 to 3.9 out of 5. They fit gaps few other coolers can, and the 27-bottle towers offer two zones under twelve inches wide. Expect plastic door frames, fixed hinges and a one-year warranty.
On the current models, the drawbacks our reviews found are manual defrost on the 27-bottle towers, plastic door frames and doors that only open one way. NutriChef’s older thermoelectric models have mostly been discontinued, so check that you are buying a current compressor model.

Check the set temperature, a door that is not fully closed, a door seal that is not sealing, and the space around the cabinet; a freestanding fridge pushed against a wall or into a cabinet cannot shed heat. On a manual-defrost model, heavy ice on the back wall also stops it cooling properly. If none of that helps, contact the seller with your model number while the one-year warranty applies.
Choose NutriChef when the space is too narrow for a standard cooler. For one wine type, the 14-bottle PKCWC140.5 is the model to buy. For reds and whites apart, choose the 27-bottle PKCWCDS275.5. If you have room for a 15-inch cooler, compare those first, because you will store more bottles for the money.

The PKCWCDS275.6 is the same slim 27-bottle dual-zone tower as its sister listing with a matte finish, so unless you have a strong preference for the other look, this is the one I would buy.
The PKCWC140.5 is the NutriChef I would point you toward if the space you have is tall and narrow rather than short and wide, and if you are willing to pay for compressor cooling in that footprint.
