NOTES ON THERMOELECTRIC WINE COOLERS/CHILLERS

One thing to remember when deciding on a thermoelectric wine cellar is that they depend on ambient temperature, meaning the temperature that your wine cellar is located.
I learned this one the hard way. When I first started buying thermoelectric coolers, I was purchasing for refrigeration in a semi-truck. I know right? Truth is, I was an over the road trucker here in the United States for many years. I first looked into purchasing a thermoelectric cooler to be able to keep some much-needed mainstays with me as I traveled and a lot of times, I wasn’t near a food source. So having things like cheese sticks, fresh fruit and maybe a couple of sandwiches were a necessity. At the time, I did not have a fancy truck like there are these days that have shore power, massive generators, and refrigerators. So, I learned what works and what doesn’t by trial & error.
For instance, if you put ANY THERMOELECTRIC WINE CELLAR in a room that is maintained at 70 Degrees Fahrenheit ( 21 Degrees Celsius) the temperature inside the unit will be approximately 45-50 Degrees F ( 10 Degrees C). So, 100 Degrees F (37 Degrees C), your new thermoelectric wine cellar will cool to about 75 – 80 Degrees F (26 Degrees C).
Conversely, in a cold area, the thermoelectric wine cellar will cool another 20 degrees F cooler and if in a cold enough environment, will freeze your wine.
So something to keep in mind when deciding where to set up your new wine cellar. That is the imitation with thermoelectric units. If for instance, you are purchasing for an RV or camper trailer, you will need to give the unit ample time to chill down after space has cooled down first. If you are purchasing for a garage or other unheated/uncooled space, I highly recommend purchasing a compressor type unit such as the Antarctic Star 17 Bottle Wine Cooler as compressor cooling is much more capable of performing well in that environment.
Most manufacturers recommend that your new small wine cellar is set up in a heated/cooled space.

Tinting helps to keep out harmful UV rays that can damage your wines, and also makes your wine chiller fashionable.
TIGHT SEAL
Keeps the cold in and the warm out – just the way a refrigerator is supposed to.
The tight seal also keeps much-needed humidity in, keeping your corks in the best shape to age your wines.

WHERE THIS SMALL WINE CELLAR FITS
This Nutrichef small wine cellar is very attractive and with an 18 bottle capacity is still small enough to fit nicely:
- in a wet bar area,
- kitchen, under a cabinet, in a pantry or near the beverage center
- under cabinet space,
- man cave,
- lady cave – Why do they call these “she sheds” exactly?
DOES THIS WINE CHILLER/COOLER FIT BETWEEN COUNTERTOP & UPPER CABINETS?
This small wine cellar likely WILL NOT fit on a countertop, underneath upper cabinets. Generally, Upper Cabinets in a Home is set at 20 Inches above the Countertop. However, that can be very different in Older or Remodeled Homes, so measure that space carefully if planning on putting your new wine cooler there. OTHER NICE TOUCHES
This small wine cellar is completely insulated including the door frame and glass (because of the dual panes) and that makes it easier to maintain consistent temperatures as well as go easy on your electric bill.
Smoked glass dual-pane tempered glass in the door, that helps keep your wines cool and safe from UV rays
LED interior lighting that is all the rage with its cool blue hue
The LCD readout and easy to change temperature controls are a very nice feature of this Nutrichef model.
It has solid foam insulation all around and that saves you on your energy bill as well as lets this compact wine cellar work easier.
It has a tight seal to keep all that coolness inside the wine cellar and keep your precious wines preserved in their best state.

WHAT DISAPPOINTS IN the No products found.
No locking mechanism.
Racks in the bottom are all one unit so if you want to remove one you have to remove all. However, they are reversible so that standing bottle storage can be on the left or the right.
Although compartments are somewhat separated, the cooler air will flow to the bottom section of the unit making it hard to store anything but red wines there due to the temperature requirements of white versus red wines. So you may be limited as to how many bottles of white, rose or champagne you can have on hand.
